Njorek is a stringed trio playing self-arranged moravian folk-themes.

The central idea at the band’s foundation was the use of Jaroslav Nejezchleba’s experience from his adolescent years when he played in a dulcimer group called „Pisecan“ and from his experience as an essential member of the Marsyas and E.t.c. bands. He used to sing Moravian folk songs at parties and pubs. These songs became the core of the band’s repertoire. Members of the band enjoy blues and rock and therefore the songs are not interpreted strictly in their original context but follow the „feelings“ of the musicians. The interweaving of different styles gives rise to uncommon songs with ethnic roots, unique in Czech music as well as elsewhere in the world. Unlike other bands of similar genre, Njorek plays acoustically. Their repertoire also includes songs from other nations as well as original compositions.
