Concert for one woman and many of her voices.
Ridina Ahmedova performs with a sampler that enables her to provide real time voice loops and layers. Vocal compositions and improvisations unwind in a spiral. There are no musical instruments, just her voice.
Ridina Ahmedova is an acknowledged Praguebased vocal artist with a diverse artistic portfolio. She started her career as a jazz singer breaking into the Prague jazz scene quickly. She was involved in electronic and dance music projects including international appearances (www.floex.cz, CD Pocustone, 2001), composed music for numerous theatrical plays and projects. In the last few years she has refocused on performing her own music solo. Her solo CD Hlasem (By Voice) was released in May 2006. In addition to her solo concert activities in the Czech Republic, Ridina has performed in Poland, Austria, Slovakia, Russia, Germany (i.e. TFF Rudolstadt 2007), France, Finland, Sweden and in the UK. Famous musician Bobby McFerrin chose Ridina Ahmedova as one of his guests at his concert in Prague in May 2008. Her multimedia solo project Voicescape received the award for the Best new project at the 2004 New Wave Festival in Prague.
Ridina is very passionate about the phenomenon of the female voice and shares her passion at vocal workshops she gives.
